KEYENCE releases two ultra-compact contact sensors with 1-mm and 5-mm stroke lengths that are viable for use in narrow spaces. The short-range models expand the GT2 Series digital contact sensor lineup and offer the ability to select the best solution based on measuring range, appearance, resolution, accuracy, mounting method, or measuring force. GT2 Series contact sensors can last over 200 million cycles without having to replace the sensor and are safe for use in the harshest of environments. They can be integrated into existing systems with a variety of communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, PROFINET/PROFIBUS, DeviceNet, CC-Link, RS-232C, BCD, TCP/IP, EtherCAT, and analog output. The latest protection mounting brackets are designed to prevent damage from either horizontally applied force or over compression of the sensor. Additionally, the company has upgraded its dedicated GT2 software to include more features including Ethernet (TCP/IP) connection, a user-defined operations function, automatic sensor head identification, and support for multiple languages.
