USA, April 6 2011:- Xilinx today announced its participation at NAB 2011 in Las Vegas. Xilinx will exhibit the next wave of FPGA programmable platforms and solutions to help illustrate to broadcast designers how to accelerate development of state-of-the-art broadcast equipment while supporting higher bandwidth required for HDTV and 3DTV. Xilinx demonstrations will highlight solutions for 10 Gbps Video over IP, SD/HD/3G-SDI connectivity and real-time video processing, to name a few.

At NAB 2011 in Las Vegas, from April 11-14, Xilinx will be demonstrating several key elements of its Broadcast Real-Time Video Engine Targeted Design Platform, which supports 1080p60, 2K and 4K video processing. Xilinx will also be revealing the implementation of its 10 Gbps over IP SMPTE2022 intellectual property (IP) showing full bandwidth, low-jitter 3x3G-SDI (or 6x HD-SDI) over 10 Gb Ethernet in full duplex running on the Virtex-6 FPGA Broadcast Connectivity Kit (V6BCK).

Additionally, the Inrevium Spartan-6 FPGA Broadcast Connectivity Kit (S6BCK) from Tokyo Electron Devices, as well as the Virtex-7 HT FPGA 28 Gbps solution highlighting the excellent jitter performance of next generation transceivers will also be showcased in the booth. Xilinx Alliance Member, Vanguard Software Solutions, will be demonstrating an H.264/AVC-I Video Encoder implementation, which will readily illustrate to designers how they can reduce bandwidth and storage requirements without sacrificing video quality. Lastly, for the first time, NAB attendees will see the brand new Kintex-7 FPGA in action supporting triple-rate SDI video. The industry’s first 28nm FPGA is ideally suited for broadcast applications with transceivers capable of supporting up to 12.5 Gbps and offering 2x the performance at less than 50 percent the power of previous generation FPGAs.
