Applied Motion Products introduced an EtherNet/IP connectivity option for their low cost SV7 servo drives. SV7 servo motor drive models are also available supporting SCL and Q languages over Ethernet UDP and TCP, RS-232 and RS-485 communication ports. CANopen and Si programming units are also available. The SV7 servo drive is a compact, 24 to 80 VDC sine servo drive and is available with specially matched 50 to 400 watt V series NEMA mount servo motors as well as M series metric mount, IP rated servo motors.

The SV7 series servo drives are suitable for a wide range of motion applications. They are built around a powerful digital signal processor coupled to an efficient MOSFET PWM amplifier. The SV7 drives include 12 optically isolated I/O points plus analog inputs. A sophisticated, yet easy to tune position loop has independent digital settings for proportional, integral and derivative gains plus velocity feedback and velocity and acceleration feed-forward.

All SV7 drives are capable of running brushless, brushed, and linear servo motors. A timing wizard automatically configures the encoder and commutation timing for virtually any brushless or brushed DC motor. Tuning is easy with their Quick Tuner software, featuring a built-in digital oscilloscope.

The SV7-IP-EE includes eight digital inputs, four digital outputs and two +/-10V analog inputs. The EtherNet/IP command set provides access to all drive control modes, I/O and parameters using EtherNet/IP class 3 explicit messaging. Q language programs stored in the drive can also be triggered over EtherNet/IP. This servo drive is the perfect solution for applications requiring connectivity to Rockwell/Allen Bradley PLCs.
